Over the Waterfall – Intermediate to Advanced

This is my arrangement for the tune “Over The Waterfall” in the key of D.  I created an intermediate to advanced arrangement working out of D position.  I really like playing this tune for a couple reasons.  First, the tune involves a “flatted-7 chord” or in this case, a C chord.  That’s not too common in traditional old-time music, but it gives this tune some space and a really nice feel.  Also, I like working out of D position for fiddle tunes like this.  I will discuss in the lesson the shape and scale I’m using to create this arrangement.  Lastly, I’m looking to play this tune “pretty” more than I’m looking to play it blazing fast.  I feel the tune sits better at mid-range tempos.  Have a listen below!
