In the Sweet By and By – Carter Style and Intermediate Flat-Picking

In this lesson, we’ll be taking a look at the popular gospel tune “In the Sweet By and By” done in the key of G. The first time through I’ve created a Carter-Style (beginner) arrangement that plays a straight-ahead melody. The second time through is an intermediate arrangement that will make use of cross-picking chord shapes along the fretboard, along with a more expressive melody line.  This is certainly a must-know for gospel music.  I think you’ll enjoy playing this melody-driven arrangement.  Have a listen!
