Deep River Blues – Flatpicking Solo – 2 Arrangements
In this lesson, we’ll be taking a look at learning a flatpicking solo for the classic tune ‘Deep River Blues’ in the key of E. This tune is traditionally done fingerstyle, however, I often find myself playing this tune in jams and needing to take a flatpicking solo. So, I’ve created two arrangements for this tune. One that is played up the neck and one that is played down the neck in the lower register. The melody to this tune is rather easy but it’s the timing and syncopation that make it tricky. This tune is really fun to play and always popular at the jam circles. Get your solo ready for the next time someone busts out this tune!
