Cripple Creek – Two Arrangements and Variations

In this week’s featured lesson we’ll be taking a look at the classic Old-Time Fiddle tune ‘Cripple Creek’ in the key of A.  I’ve created two arrangements for this lesson, the first of which sits largely on the higher strings and the second arrangement will take place in the lower register/lower strings.  Since the melody is only four bars long for each A and B part, each arrangement will include variations for the A and B section so you can learn how to manipulate the melody and become more expressive.

This is a must-know tune at any jam or song circle.  Get your solo ready to go!  Have a listen below. 🙂
