Kentucky Waltz – Advanced Rhythm
This is an advanced arrangement for the tune ‘Kentucky Waltz’ done in the key of D. One of my favorite things to do on guitar is to play advanced chord shapes and learn to substitute changes into different places of the tune. This is a great arrangement for building your chord vocabulary! This tune is a Bill Monroe standard that usually just has four chords but I’ve really spiced it up. It is chalk full of chords substitutions which provides a beautiful walking bass line. I perform this exact arrangement every time I’m out gigging. It creates a whole new experience for the listener and turns this four chord tune into more of a Jazz/Western Swing style type of song. Have fun!!
