Easy and Intermediate Carter Style Arrangements in C
In this week’s featured lesson we’ll take a look at learning two solos done in the Carter-style in the key of C. The first time through we’ll take a basic melody and do a straight-ahead solo. The second time through we’ll take that basic melody and begin to embellish it and become more expressive with it. We’ll add elements of cross-picking, hammer-on’s, pull-off’s, and consecutive eight-note runs. This way you can play the basic melody and then learn how to add to it. The carter-style way of playing is great for ‘solo guitar’ or sitting on the porch picking all by yourself. This style can be applied to many tunes. Enjoy!
