Will the Circle be Unbroken – Carter Style and Beginner Flatpicking Arrangements

In this week’s featured lesson we’ll be taking a look at learning two arrangements for the Gospel and Bluegrass tune “Will the Circle Be Unbroken” in the key of G.  The first time through is a Carter Style arrangement that plays the melody ‘right on the head’ and will be great for anyone starting to learn this style. The second time through is a ‘Beginner Flatpicking’ arrangement in which we’ll start to add flatpicking elements such as slides, hammer-ons, and pull-off’s which will start to give it that Bluegrass sound.  This is a great lesson for those of you looking to get into the Carter Style and Bluegrass pickin’!  The Carter Style is also a great way to accompany yourself while playing the melody.  Enjoy!
